Covides celebrates the 41st Member’s Party
On Sunday, December 1, hundreds of members gathered at the Prunamala winery in Sant Sadurní to celebrate its traditional Members’ Party.
The event brought together more than 1,100 people, including members and collaborators of the cooperative. In this framework, a breakfast was held to share progress, take stock of the last campaign and present the winery’s new products, new wines and oils.
The general director of the Catalan Institute of Vine and Wine (INCAVI), Joan Gené, participated in the meeting, highlighting the importance of Covides in the Catalan wine sector and cooperativism. He underlined the egalitarian model of the cooperative, where all members have the same representation, praising the quality of the products produced, as well as the support offered to farmers. Joan Gené shared the stage with other local authorities, such as Pere Vernet, mayor of Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, who expressed their support for the work of the cooperative.
Rafael Ramon, president of Covides, used his speech to analyze the current and future situation of the cooperative. He acknowledged the difficulties of recent years, marked by a prolonged drought and rising production costs, but expressed confidence in the positive evolution of sales during 2024. According to Ramon, cava, Covides’ flagship product, has performed particularly well, which augurs well for the coming year.
The event, in addition to the institutional and business reflections, had a festive component thanks to the musical performance of the Sidral Brass Band, which cheered up the attendees during the day. The Members’ Party has established itself as an annual meeting place where Covides members can celebrate the achievements of the cooperative and strengthen ties within the wine community.
