Covides successfully achieves the verification of its 2024 carbon footprint
Covides has successfully passed the verification of its 2024 carbon footprint, in accordance with the international ISO 14064 standard. This verification, which certifies the quality and reliability of data on greenhouse gas emissions, reinforces the organization’s strong commitment to environmental sustainability and transparency.
Covides’ carbon footprint is calculated based on the three scopes established by ISO 14064:
- Scope 1: Includes direct emissions from sources owned or controlled by the organization.
- Scope 2: Covers indirect emissions associated with purchased energy consumption, mainly electricity used in Covides’ facilities.
- Scope 3: Encompasses other indirect emissions related to the organization’s activities, such as those linked to transport, materials used, and suppliers.
Covides has set a strategic goal of reducing its total carbon footprint by 10% by 2030, using 2023 as the baseline year. To achieve this, the company will implement actions across three key areas: training and engagement of all stakeholders, increased use of renewable energy, and improved management of internal transport.
This achievement has been made possible thanks to the involvement and collaboration of the entire Covides team. The cooperative sincerely thanks everyone for their shared efforts in meeting this demanding environmental verification.
We will continue working together to reduce our carbon footprint and become more sustainable every day.
