The 2025 harvest begins at Covides with exceptional grape quality
Today, August 7th, Covides kicks off the 2025 harvest with the arrival of the first grapes at the Sant Cugat Sesgarrigues winery. Although the harvest has started six days later than last year, the grapes have ripened under excellent conditions, thanks to weather that provided the vines with the necessary water to reach optimal maturity.
This year’s crop is of extraordinary quality, standing out for its very good acidity and a grain weight higher than in 2024. The first grapes unloaded are of the Chardonnay variety, intended for cava production, and the Pinot Noir variety, which will be used to make Cava Montse. Both show great balance and impeccable health.
In the coming days, the harvest will continue with more Chardonnay at the Sant Cugat Sesgarrigues winery, and other varieties such as Macabeo, Xarel·lo, and Parellada will be progressively incorporated at the Sant Sadurní winery.
With this new campaign, Covides reaffirms its commitment to quality and care for the land, starting a harvest that promises to be one of the most balanced in recent years.
