On March 4th Covides celebrates the International Working Women’s Day with an afternoon of activities in which culture and cava will be the protagonists. From 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., the courtyard of the cooperative’s headquarters -located at Rambla Nostra Senyora, 45- will host the presentation of the book “Terra de Dones. Farmers of Catalonia” by the same author, Laura Saula, who will also be in charge of moderating a round table with the participation of women farmers who will explain their experience in the sector. The event will also include the presentation and tasting of Terra Terrae Reserva cava, led by the technical director of the winery, Maria Galup. During the evening there will also be a musical performance by Xavi Díaz and an exhibition of photographs dedicated to women and the countryside.
With this event, Covides continues its work to promote and highlight the importance of the figure of women farmers in the Catalan countryside and the Penedès. To organize this event, the cooperative has had the collaboration of the Department of Equality, Solidarity and Cooperation of the City of Vilafranca and the area of training and development of people of the Federation of Agricultural Cooperatives of Catalonia.
The event is open to all members, members’ wives and rural workers. The entrance is free but it is necessary to register in advance and before March 1 through the mail email@example.com or by calling 93.817.25.52.
